Carbon neutrality has been a hot topic around the world. Carbon emissions reach record highs every year. The world remains off track in meeting the Paris Agreement that aims to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and achieve carbon neutrality.

Being carbon neutral simply means that any carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere from a company's activities is balanced by an equivalent amount being removed. Dahua strongly supports the “double carbon” goals that aim to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060, deeply incorporating it to its own corporate and social responsibilities. During the previous reporting period, the company actively carried out innovative and eco-friendly designs using clean technology, reduced product energy consumption, and promoted green expansion in global markets.

Low-power Product Design

Dahua actively applies clean technology to its environmentally friendly and innovative products in order to reduce energy consumption and promote green business in the global market. Some remarkable green Dahua products that significantly reduce power consumption include Low-power Wireless Alarm Keypad (96%), Low-power Multi-lens PTZ (66%), and Small Pitch LED Controller (60%).

While ensuring stable product functionality, the company not only adopts low-power products in their solutions, but also designs product sleep and wake-up solutions based on application scenarios, which automatically controls the energy-saving modes. Compared to the original version, this upgraded eco-friendly solution greatly improves the energy efficiency of the product and significantly reduces the energy consumption during product use.

Solar Power Supply

Dahua actively incorporates solar power in product applications, which helps achieve ultra low-power solutions. For instance, the Dahua Integrated Solar Panels with PTZ/Mini PTZ Camera can save up to 350,000-500,000 kWh per 10,000 units. This not only lessen the energy consumption of the product itself, but also reduces the use of supporting installation materials and facilities for long-distance wiring in the site and helps moderate the carbon footprint during product use.

Energy-saving AIoT Solutions

With strong AIoT capabilities, Dahua actively expands the application of product energy conservation. The company adopts intelligent energy-saving and emission reduction solution designs to promote the application of green solutions and reduce carbon emissions around the world. Some notable examples are the Smart Lighting Solution and Smart Air-conditioning Solution that can reduce energy consumption by 20% and 30% respectively.

The Smart Lighting Solution transforms traditional lighting to one-stop intelligent lighting solution for new projects. It determines whether to enable or adjust the lighting through light intensity sensing. Also, it achieves energy-saving effects using infrared sensing and radar detection, and aids energy-saving strategies through data analysis to further improve intelligent lighting control and achieve better energy-saving results.

Moreover, the Smart Air-conditioning Solution is deployed and managed through the platform, which intelligently controls the opening and closing of devices based on the application scenario. It strategically controls the operating temperature of the air conditioner, conduct real-time rounds, and combine temperature and humidity with human body sensing radar for linkage control, ensuring comfort while reducing energy consumption.

The past year has witnessed Dahua’s firm commitment toward its social and corporate responsibilities, especially in sustainable development and environment conservation. To explore more about Dahua’s green footprints, stay tuned for our informative blog articles these coming weeks!
